Who WAS that lady I saw on stage last Saturday?
From the moment you took the platform with the pearls to match the shoes, your smile radiated.
You were at your most authentic, most vulnerable in your presentation and you 'cut loose' in a way that I have never seen before.
Your "I'm getting PROMOTED!" dance...I didn't see that coming and it was DELIGHTFUL! The audience could 'feel' you in that moment.
Your EXPECTANCY ("all about ME") took the audience into the meeting with you. For the FIRST TIME, you used a different voice for the Director, allowing us to clearly identify who was speaking.
You doubled down by giving her a specific demeanor and attitude...which really came through on "Close the door on your way out."
I was particularly impressed by the appropriate display of character emotion throughout.
I enjoyed the subtle humor about slamming the door as well.
One of your best displays was the use of significant lines like:
"I can feel, touch, taste my heart in my throat." Consider an additional 2-heartbeat pause after that line to magnify the impact.
The lines, "Create what you don't see" and "Be clear on what you DO see" were equally powerful, and by repeating them you clearly reinforced your message.
You used dialogue very well throughout, and hearing the words from your mentor was more effective than simply reporting what was said.
By admitting that you too were guilty of CLOSED DOORS and ASSUMPTIONS, you didn't set yourself up as superior to anyone else in the organization. Instead, you displayed vulnerability, authenticity and honesty which gave you credibility with the audience.
Your OPEN-DOOR POLICY, EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT POLICY, and ACTIVE LISTENING TRAINING were clear and easy to remember, as were the concepts of GRATITUDE, COMPASSION and LOVE.
In your content, you gave social proof by referencing well-known brands like STARBUCKS BMW, and WAL-MART. Solid.
Yours was a well-rounded, well-delivered presentation, with competent displays of stagecraft, emotion, characters, conflict, solutions and takeaways.
